COVID-19 Alert:
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and for the safety of our patients and our staff, we are exercising several cautionary measures. Our office currently remains open but with very limited hours. Appointment requests for in-office treatments must be submitted by email to Dr. Tirgan.
Furthermore, the pandemic has caused an undue increase in our operation costs, as such we are gradually adjusting our fees to be able to provide the same level of service to all our patients.
New Patients:
To make an appointment to see Dr. Tirgan, we ask all new patients to adhere to ALL of the following three steps:
1- Complete the Keloid Intake Form. Please make sure you provide accurate responses to each question and provide a valid e-mail address.
2- Make a non-refundable Payment of $100.00 for the initial assessment.
3- Submit the intake form, confirmation of your payment along with several images of your keloids, taken in good lighting and from different angels to DrTirgan@gmail.com.
Once you submit the form, images, and the payment, you will receive a written response by e mail from Dr. Tirgan, usually within 1-2 business days. His response will provide you with his treatment plan and an estimate for the treatment cost. Should you choose to proceed with the treatment plan, you will then pay for consultation fee. We will then schedule you for your telephone consultation and your treatment.
To make payments please scroll to the bottom of this page.
COST OF CONSULTATION:
The Consultation Fee is $250. This is in addition to the initial assessment fee. Unfortunately, most insurance companies consider keloids as cosmetic problems and do not pay for the treatment of keloids. As a result, we cannot accept any form of insurance. Due to the COVID-19 situation, all new patient consultations are done by phone and prior to the actual treatment appointments. To proceed with an assessment or a formal consultation with Dr. Tirgan, please use the payment buttons below.

Cost of Treatment:
The number and type of treatments vary from patient to patient. Unfortunately, there is no way to predict the total cost. Size, shape, location, and prior procedures are all factors that affect the complexity of treatment. Additionally, each keloid responds to treatment differently. In general, the smaller the keloid, the lower the cost; however, to achieve the best possible outcome, most keloids require several rounds of treatment. The fees for keloid injections, anesthesia, etc., are separate from the fee for cryotherapy. Dr. Tirgan will provide you with the procedural costs in advance of each visit. We can also provide you with an estimate of your treatment cost if you have one or a few keloids.
Cost of Follow-up Visits:
Once you are an established patient, you will only pay for the cost of ongoing treatment. We typically waive the office visit charge for patients who come in for treatment. We do however charge a fee of $100.00 to $200.00, depending on the complexity of the visit if no treatment is provided.
Saturday Appointments:
On occasions, Dr. Tirgan sees patients on Saturdays. Please visit our calendar for available Saturdays.
Treatment Guidelines:
We frequently receive emails and phone calls from patients who live far away from New York, asking us for advice. Please keep in mind Dr. Tirgan cannot and does not provide treatment or advice by email. We advise that you review the Keloid Treatment Guidelines that are available on the website of the Keloid Research Foundation.
